Classification of four-stroke engine oils is defined in ISO 6743-15. The performance requirements of four-stroke engine oils classified in all of the categories covered by ISO 6743-15, EMA and EMB, are embraced in this specification. ISO 24254:2007 specifies the performance classification of four-stroke cycle gasoline engine oils, based on physical and chemical properties, and three friction performance indices, which are derived from the frictional properties of the lubricant, according to the JASO T904 test procedure.  Published 2007-10 Edition : 1 Number of pages : 7 Technical Committee 75.100 Lubricants, industrial oils and related products

ISO 26422:2014 Petroleum and related products — Determination of shear stability of lubricating oils containing polymers — Method using a tapered roller bearing ISO 26422:2014 specifies a method of determining the shear stability of polymer-containing lubricating oils by the four-ball machine as specified in ISO 20623, but using a tapered roller bearing. The test results allow prediction of the in-service permanent viscosity loss. NOTE Other International Standards exist which evaluate viscosity loss of polymer-containing oils. The method specified within this International Standard subjects fluids to a higher shear rate than, for example, the diesel injector nozzle shear test described within ISO 20844.[3] It is particularly appropriate for lubricants being used in high shear applications, such as components with gears and roller bearings. In such applications, the shear rate in the ISO 20844 test method can be too low to generate a realistic permanent loss in viscosity of the fluid.  Published 2014-12 Edition : 2 Number of pages : 10 Technical Committee 75.100 Lubricants, industrial oils and related products
ISO 3871:2000 Road vehicles — Labelling of containers for petroleum-based or non-petroleum-based brake fluid This International Standard specifies the minimum labelling required for commercial containers of petroleum- and non-petroleum-based fluids used in the braking and hydraulic systems of road vehicles, including mopeds and motorcycles.  Published 2000-03 Edition : 4 Number of pages : 3 Technical Committee 75.120 Hydraulic fluids ; 43.040.40 Braking systems

The ageing is accelerated by the presence of oxygen, water and metal catalysts at elevated temperature, and the degradation of the fluid is followed by changes in pH value and insolubles content. Other parts of ISO 4263 specify similar procedures for the determination of the ageing behaviour of mineral oils and specified categories of fire-resistant fluids used in hydraulic and other applications.  Published 2003-04 Edition : 1 Number of pages : 14 Technical Committee 75.120 Hydraulic fluids
ISO 4263-3:2006 Petroleum and related products — Determination of the ageing behaviour of inhibited oils and fluids — TOST test — Part 3: Anhydrous procedure for synthetic hydraulic fluids ISO 4263-3:2006 specifies a method for the determination of the ageing behaviour of synthetic hydraulic fluids of categories HFDR, HFDU, HEES and HEPG as defined e.g. in ISO 12922 and ISO 15380. The ageing is accelerated by the presence of oxygen and metal catalysts at elevated temperature, and the degradation of the fluid is followed by changes in acid number. Other parts of ISO 4263 specify similar procedures for the determination of ageing behaviour of mineral oils and specified categories of fire-resistant fluids used in hydraulic and other applications.  Withdrawn 2006-02 Edition : 1 Number of pages : 21 Technical Committee 75.120 Hydraulic fluids
ISO 4263-3:2010 Petroleum and related products — Determination of the ageing behaviour of inhibited oils and fluids using the TOST test — Part 3: Anhydrous procedure for synthetic hydraulic fluids ISO 4263-3:2010 specifies a method for the determination of the ageing behaviour of synthetic hydraulic fluids of categories HFDR, HFDU, HEES and HEPG as defined e.g. in ISO 12922 and ISO 15380. Other signs of fluid deterioration, such as the formation of insoluble sludge, catalyst coil corrosion or decrease in viscosity, can occur, which indicate oxidation of the fluid, but are not reflected in the calculated oxidation lifetime. The correlation of these occurrences with field service is under investigation. ISO 4263-3:2010 can be used to compare the oxidation stability of fluids that are not prone to contamination with water. However, because of the large number of individual field-service applications, the correlation between the results of ISO 4263-3:2010 and actual service performance can vary markedly, and is best judged on experience. The precision of ISO 4263-3:2010 for synthetic hydraulic fluids is not known because interlaboratory data are not available. ISO 4263-3:2010 might not be suitable for use in specifications or in the event of disputed results as long as these data are not available. However, precision for inhibited turbine oils is given for guidance as an indication of the precision that could be obtained for synthetic hydraulic fluids.  Withdrawn 2010-10 Edition : 2 Number of pages : 21 Technical Committee 75.120 Hydraulic fluids
ISO 4263-3:2015 Petroleum and related products — Determination of the ageing behaviour of inhibited oils and fluids using the TOST test — Part 3: Anhydrous procedure for synthetic hydraulic fluids ISO 4263-3:2015 specifies a method for the determination of the ageing behaviour of synthetic hydraulic fluids of categories HFDU, HEES, HEPG and HETG as defined, for example, in ISO 12922[1] and ISO 15380[2]. NOTE Other signs of fluid deterioration, such as the formation of insoluble sludge, catalyst coil corrosion or change in viscosity, can occur which indicate oxidation of the fluid, but are not reflected in the calculated oxidation lifetime. The correlation of these occurrences with field service is under investigation. This test method may be used to compare the oxidation stability of fluids that are not prone to contamination with water. However, because of the large number of individual field-service applications, the correlation between the results of this test and actual service performance can vary markedly, and is best judged on experience. The precision of this test method for synthetic hydraulic fluids is not known because interlaboratory data are not available. This method might not be suitable for use in specifications or in the event of disputed results as long as these data are not available.  Published 2015-11 Edition : 3 Number of pages : 24 Technical Committee 75.120 Hydraulic fluids
