ISO/TS 17958:2013 Paper and board — Determination of fracture toughness — Constant rate of elongation method (1,7 mm/s) ISO/TS 17958:2013 describes a method for determining the fracture toughness of paper and board using a tensile testing machine operated with a constant rate of elongation. ISO/TS 17958:2013 also describes the determination of the fracture strength and fracture strain of a notched paper web with an assigned standard web geometry. This information is used to rank the fracture properties of paper materials. ISO/TS 17958:2013 is applicable to all kinds of paper and paperboard, except for certain special grades, such as creped paper and other paper materials that significantly deviate from exhibiting monotonically decreasing tangential stiffness during tensile testing. ISO/TS 17958:2013 does not apply to corrugated fibreboard.  Published 2013-04 Edition : 1 Number of pages : 16 Technical Committee 85.060 Paper and board
ISO 18522:2016 Paper and board — Automated off-line testing of physical properties for CD (cross direction) profiles ISO 18522:2016 specifies the procedures for determining the cross direction profiles of physical properties of paper and board using automated off-line testers. Where available for a given measurement, the relevant International Standard is referred to. It is applicable to most kinds of paper and board, but is not relevant for tissue and corrugated board. In ISO 18522:2016, it is left to the paper and board producer and the customer to agree upon which properties are relevant. The results are reported as mean values or as profiles across the machine. Some properties are reported in index form. The result obtained using the relevant ISO standard based on stand-alone equipment is used in case of challenge or dispute, if not otherwise agreed.  Published 2016-11 Edition : 1 Number of pages : 27 Technical Committee 85.060 Paper and board
ISO/TS 19857:2021 Paper, board and printing inks – Printability – Laboratory test method for offset ink setting This document describes a laboratory test method, using an IGT1-type or a prüfbau2-type printability tester, for the preparation of specimens to evaluate the absorption rate of an ink on a substrate in offset lithography by setting-off the printed surface to an unprinted surface. This method describes testing with an amount of ink simulating either single colour or multi-colour printing. The print and the set-off print (counter print) are made with interval times, between print and set-off, common for the target process. This method evaluates a particular ink and substrate combination.   1These materials are available from IGT Testing Systems, www.igt.nl. Paper and board online measuring equipment is mostly based on different technology to that of laboratory equipment. Therefore, this Technical Specification specifies the International Standards to be chosen for the determination of physical properties of paper and board when measured online. It is applicable to all kind of paper and board. In case of dispute, the usual reference is the laboratory testing but the parties may decide that the online measurements are valid based on the application of this International Standard.  Published 2015-11 Edition : 1 Number of pages : 18 Technical Committee 85.060 Paper and board

ISO 22754:2008 Pulp and paper — Determination of the effective residual ink concentration (ERIC number) by infrared reflectance measurement ISO 22754:2008 specifies a method for the determination of the effective residual ink concentration (ERIC number) by infrared reflectance measurement. ISO 22754:2008 is applicable to all types of deinked, recycled pulp and to sheets of machine-made paper made from recycled pulp, where the residual ink is black. The method is applicable to materials available in sheet form only if the opacity at 950 nm is less than 97 %. The ERIC number obtained is dependent on the distribution of ink particle sizes, and the method is most effective for submicron particles. The value obtained is reliable only if the test material is uniform in ink distribution, formation, and grammage such that presenting different parts of the sheet to the measuring aperture of the reflectometer produces very similar readings.  Published 2008-11 Edition : 1 Number of pages : 9 Technical Committee 85.040 Pulps ; 85.060 Paper and board

ISO/IEC 24700:2005 Quality and performance of office equipment that contains reused components ISO/IEC 24700:2004 specifies product characteristics for use in an original equipment manufacturer's or authorized third party's declaration of conformity to demonstrate that a marketed product that contains reused components performs equivalent to new, meeting equivalent to new component specifications and performance criteria, and continues to meet all the safety and environmental criteria required by responsibly built products. It is relevant to marketed products whose manufacturing and recovery processes result in the reuse of components. Annex C has a description of how reuse relates to other recycling processes. ISO/IEC 24700:2004 is applicable to: A situation in which a government requires a neutral benchmark to evaluate the quality, safety and performance of equipment that contains reused components and to demonstrate the environmental responsibility of the supplier. When regulations mandate a neutral benchmark for equipment, ISO/IEC 24700:2004 provides the benchmark for proving compliance with such regulations.A situation in which a commercial supplier requires a neutral benchmark to demonstrate and communicate the quality, safety and performance of equipment that contains reused components and to demonstrate the environmental responsibility of the supplier.Situations in which consumers require a neutral benchmark to identify or distinguish environmentally responsible products. ISO/IEC 24700:2004 reflects the world's current approaches that yield products from many manufacturing processes including the reuse of components, with the equipment's warranties and guarantees playing an important role in market acceptance. In today's procurement processes, technical equipment definitions used by regulators must be addressed and, in that sense, ISO/IEC 24700:2004 will be useful in procurement and in the trade facilitation area, to communicate with regulators. ISO/IEC 24700:2004 specifically addresses office equipment. However, in the future it may provide valuable directions for other industries and industrial sectors.  Published 2005-07 Edition : 2 Number of pages : 10 Technical Committee 35.260 Office machines

ISO 12944-2:2017 Paints and varnishes — Corrosion protection of steel structures by protective paint systems — Part 2: Classification of environments ISO 12944-2:2017 deals with the classification of the principal environments to which steel structures are exposed, and the corrosivity of these environments. ISO 12944-2:2017 - defines atmospheric-corrosivity categories, based on mass loss (or thickness loss) by standard specimens, and describes typical natural atmospheric environments to which steel structures are exposed, giving advice on the estimation of the corrosivity, - describes different categories of environment for structures immersed in water or buried in soil, and - gives information on some special corrosion stresses that can cause a significant increase in corrosion rate or place higher demands on the performance of the protective paint system. The corrosion stresses associated with a particular environment or corrosivity category represent one essential parameter governing the selection of protective paint systems.  Published 2017-11 Edition : 2 Number of pages : 11 Technical Committee 87.020 Paint coating processes

It gives examples of appropriate and inappropriate design, indicating how problems of application, inspection and maintenance of paint systems can be avoided. Design measures which facilitate handling and transport of the steel structures are also considered.  Published 2017-11 Edition : 2 Number of pages : 14 Technical Committee 87.020 Paint coating processes
