Size designation of clothes — Part 1: Anthropometric definitions for body measurement |
ISO 8559-1:2017 provides a description of anthropometric measurements that can be used as a basis for the creation of physical and digital anthropometric databases. The list of measurements specified in this document is intended to serve as a guide for practitioners in the field of clothing who are required to apply their knowledge to select population market segments and to create size and shape profiles for the development of all garment types and their equivalent fit mannequins. The list provides a guide for how to take anthropometric measurements, as well as give information to clothing product development teams and fit mannequin manufacturers on the principles of measurement and their underlying anatomical and anthropometrical bases.
Annex A describes the use of the pictogram (standardized and modified) based on the selection of most usual body dimensions used for clothing size designation.
ISO 8559-1:2017 is intended to be used in conjunction with national, regional or international regulations or agreements to ensure harmony in defining population groups and to allow comparison of anthropometric data sets.

Size designation of clothes — Part 2: Primary and secondary dimension indicators |
ISO 8559-2:2017 specifies primary and secondary dimensions for specified types of garments to be used in combination with ISO 8559‑1 (anthropometric definitions for body measurement).
The primary aim of this document is to establish a size designation system that can be used by manufacturers and retailers to indicate to consumers (in a simple, direct and meaningful manner) the body dimensions of the person that the garment is intended to fit. Provided that the size of the person's body (as indicated by the specified dimensions) has been determined in accordance with ISO 8559‑1, this designation system will facilitate the choice of garments that fit. This information can be indicated by labelling, etc.
The size designation system is based on body measurements, not garment measurements. The choice of garment measurements is normally determined by the designer and the manufacturers who make appropriate allowances to accommodate the type and position of wear, style, cut and fashion elements of the garment.

Size designation of clothes — Part 3: Methodology for the creation of body measurement tables and intervals |
This document describes the principles of the establishment of tables for body measurements, defines the categories of tables (related to intervals), and lists the population groups (infants, girls, boys, children, women, men) and sub-groups to be used for developing ready-to-wear garments. The body measurement tables and intervals are mainly used by the clothing sector to make the development of well-fitting products easier and more accurate.
The described methodology is mainly based on the application of statistical analysis, using body dimension data. The statistical level has deliberately been kept to a low level in order for the content to be made readily comprehensible to the widest possible readership.
This methodology is applicable to various sets of body dimensions. It can be useful to determine intervals for the size designation as described in ISO 8559-2. Values in the tables in this document are examples.
Garment dimensions are not included in this document.
It is necessary to use a general approach providing inbuilt flexibility, in order to keep the whole sizing system capable of adapting to changes (e.g. demographic criteria), because body shape and proportions for any one targeted population group differ significantly.
NOTE ISO 15535 can be convenient for recording and organizing the population data.

Size designation of clothes — Part 4: Determination of the coverage ratios of body measurement tables |
This document describes the calculation of coverage ratios of body measurement tables in comparison with two or three selected body dimensions of the targeted population.
NOTE Theoretically, the calculation of the coverage ratios can be extended to further dimensions. Practically, carrying out calculations based on 4 or more dimensions, leading to low percentages, face difficulty in getting easy visual illustrations and has not been found relevant.
This document is applicable to body measurement tables only if a database of body dimensions of the targeted population is available.

Ergonomics of the thermal environment — Estimation of thermal insulation and water vapour resistance of a clothing ensemble |
ISO 9920:2007 specifies methods for estimating the thermal characteristics (resistance to dry heat loss and evaporative heat loss) in steady-state conditions for a clothing ensemble based on values for known garments, ensembles and textiles. It examines the influence of body movement and air penetration on the thermal insulation and water vapour resistance. It does not deal with other effects of clothing, such as adsorption of water, buffering or tactile comfort, take into account the influence of rain and snow on the thermal characteristics, consider special protective clothing (water-cooled suits, ventilated suits, heated clothing), or deal with the separate insulation on different parts of the body and discomfort due to the asymmetry of a clothing ensemble.

Standard sizing systems for clothes |
In order to size mass-produced clothes, the body size of the intended wearer has to be defined and identified with the nearest size on a table of standard sizes. The processing of body measurement data as described in ISO/TR 10652 results in the grouping of body sizes. The sizing systems presented in annexes A to C are exemplary only. This Technical Report establishes a body sizing system to be used for compiling standard garment sizes for infants, men and boys and women and girls.

ISO 18825-2:2016 defines the terms used to describe the virtual human body which is used in virtual garment systems. Specifically, virtual body landmarks and virtual body dimensions are described.
It mainly deals with vocabulary and terminology of essential virtual body dimensions of the virtual torso, arm, leg, head, face, hands and bones and joints of virtual human body.
Since there are many body landmarks on the head and hand, landmarks on these parts are defined separately from those on other parts of the body.
It is intended for developers of virtual garment systems. Although ISO 18825-2:2016 does not aim at users of virtual human body in online communication, the improved reliability of virtual human body will benefit them.

Graphical symbols — Technical guidelines for the consideration of consumers' needs |
ISO/IEC Guide 74:2004 gives procedures for the development of graphical symbols for public information, use in safety signs and product safety labels, and use on equipment and products.
Such graphical symbols can be included in consumer documentation.
ISO/IEC Guide 74:2004 does not cover road traffic signs and graphical symbols for use in technical documentation.
Rules for the design of graphical symbols are given in International Standards. ISO/IEC Guide 74:2004 brings together information on relevant international reference documents and standards to assist technical committees and designers to follow best practice when considering the need for a new graphical symbol.
IMPORTANT -- The colours represented in the electronic file of ISO/IEC Guide 74:2004 can be neither viewed on screen nor printed as true representations. Although the copies of ISO/IEC Guide 74:2004 printed by ISO have been produced to correspond (with an acceptable tolerance as judged by the naked eye) to the requirements of ISO 3864-1, it is not intended that these printed copies be used for colour matching. Instead, consult ISO 3864-1 which provides colorimetric and photometric properties together with, as a guideline, references from colour order systems.

Network services billing — Requirements |
This International Standard specifies the minimum requirements for billing of all consumption-based utility
network services to domestic customers. It covers the processes required to produce the bill and to deal with
issues that arise after the bill has been sent, as well as the content of the billing document or statement. This
International Standard is applicable to utility network services that are unmetered, metered at the point of
delivery or metered remotely (e.g. on the supplier's own premises), and it covers any unmetered or unmeasured
charges appearing on the same bill as metered or measured charges, as well as flat rate charges.
NOTE 1 Utility network services include electricity supply, water, sanitation, gas supply, district heating and
communications.
NOTE 2 The requirements given in this International Standard are also applicable to other consumers who are legally
entitled to use the service provided by the supplier, except where in order to comply with privacy or data protection
requirements, it is necessary for the supplier to obtain the authority of the registered customer before dealing with another
consumer on billing matters.
This International Standard does not cover pricing, except for a requirement to provide information to
customers. It is only applicable to billing for consumption-based utility network services and it applies to all bills
or statements for utility network services where there is an ongoing account relationship between the customer
and the supplier, regardless of the payment method used.
NOTE 3 This includes bills for metered consumption, bills where a formula is used to estimate consumption (e.g. water
bills based on the number of persons per household or the size of the house), or where a flat rate fee is charged regardless
of consumption (e.g. telephony or internet bills where the tariff allows unlimited usage). It also applies to prepayment
customers, where a bill or account from the supplier is necessary to enable the customer to reconcile the amount paid
in advance with the cost of consumption, or where the customer expects to receive a bill based on point of sale or other
advertising (e.g. mobile telephony and energy metering) where codes, keys, electronic dongles or electronic cards are
used to load and reload the service and to indicate what was purchased.
NOTE 4 Services that are not billed [e.g. mobile telephony paid for by pre-purchased SIM (Subscriber Identity Module)
cards that are unmetered] and services that are funded directly by the taxpayer without bills being issued are not covered
by this International Standard.
NOTE 5 Many of the key principles in this International Standard also apply to all forms of billing, and suppliers are
therefore encouraged to adopt the relevant requirements in this International Standard for billing of other services.
