Photography — Sensitometry of screen/film systems for medical radiography — Part 1: Determination of sensitometric curve shape, speed and average gradient |
ISO 9236-1:2004 specifies methods for the determination of the sensitometric curve shape, average gradient and speed of a single sample of a screen/film/filmholder/processing system for medical radiography. It is not applicable to special radiographic applications such as mammography, dental radiography and direct-exposing medical radiographic systems (see for example ISO 5799).
The filmholder can be any means that ensures close screen/film contact and prevents the film from being exposed to ambient light. In particular, the filmholder can be a light-tight vacuum bag, as often used in the laboratory, or a radiographic cassette as used in medical radiography.

Photography — Sensitometry of screen/film systems for medical radiography — Part 3: Determination of sensitometric curve shape, speed and average gradient for mammography |
This part of ISO 9236 specifies methods for determination of the sensitometric curve shape, average gradient and
speed of a single sample of a screen/film/filmholder/processing system in mammography.
The filmholder may be any means which ensures close screen/film contact and prevents the film from being
exposed to ambient light. In particular, the filmholder may be a light-tight vacuum bag, as often used in the
laboratory, or a radiographic cassette as used in mammography.
NOTE — Hereafter, screen/film/filmholder combinations will be referred to as "combinations", and will be referred to as
"systems" when the processing is included.

Non-destructive testing — Industrial radiographic film — Part 1: Classification of film systems for industrial radiography |
The purpose of ISO 11699-1:2008 is to establish the performance of film systems.
ISO 11699-1:2008 is applicable for the classification of film systems in combination with specified lead screens for industrial radiography (non-destructive testing). ISO 11699-1:2008 is intended to ensure that the image quality of radiographs – as far as this is influenced by the film system – is in conformity with the requirements of International Standards such as ISO 5579, ISO 17636 and EN 12681.
ISO 11699-1:2008 does not apply to the classification of films used with fluorescent intensifying screens. The measurement of film systems in ISO 11699-1:2008 is restricted to a selected radiation quality to simplify the procedure. The properties of films will change with radiation energy, but not the ranking of film system quality.
Additional methods for evaluating the photographic process are described in ISO 11699-2, by which the performance of film systems can be controlled under the conditions given in industry.

Non-destructive testing — Qualification of radiographic film digitisation systems — Part 1: Definitions, quantitative measurements of image quality parameters, standard reference film and qualitative control |
ISO 14096-1:2005 specifies procedures for the evaluation of basic performance parameters of the radiographic film digitisation process such as spatial resolution and spatial linearity, density range, density contrast sensitivity and characteristic transfer curve. They can be integrated into the system software and together with a standard reference film used for quality control of the digitisation process. This reference film provides a series of test targets for performance evaluation. The test targets are suitable for evaluating a digitisation system with a spatial resolution down to 25 micrometres, a density contrast sensitivity down to 0,02 optical density, a density range of 0,5 to 4,5 and a film size capacity of (350 x 430) mm2. This standard does not address signal processing and display of the digitised data.

Non-destructive testing — Qualification of radiographic film digitisation systems — Part 2: Minimum requirements |
ISO 14096-2:2005 specifies three film-digitisation quality classes for the requirements of non-destructive testing. The selected class depends on the radiation energy, penetrated material thickness and the quality level of the original radiographic film. ISO 14096-2:2005 does not address signal processing, display and storage of the digitised data.

Non-destructive testing of steel tubes — Part 5: Magnetic particle inspection of seamless and welded ferromagnetic steel tubes for the detection of surface imperfections |
ISO 10893-5:2011 specifies requirements for magnetic particle inspection of seamless and welded ferromagnetic steel tubes for the detection of surface imperfections on the tube body and the end/bevel face at the ends.
For the tube body, it specifies requirements for the detection of surface imperfections on all or part of the outside surface of tubes. However, by agreement between the purchaser and manufacturer, it can be applicable to the inside surface over a limited length from the ends of tubes, dependent on the tube diameter.
In addition, ISO 10893-5:2011 can be used, as appropriate, to locate the position of external surface imperfections detected by another non-destructive testing method (e.g. ultrasonic) prior to dressing of the tube surface, and to ensure complete removal of the imperfection after dressing is complete.
For the end/bevel face at the ends of plain-end and beveled-end tubes, ISO 10893-5:2010 specifies requirements for the detection of laminar imperfections which can interfere with subsequent fabrication and inspection operations (e.g. welding and ultrasonic inspection of the welds).
ISO 10893-5:2011 is applicable to the detection of imperfections, other than laminar imperfections, on the end/bevel face. In this case, magnetization is applied in the direction essentially perpendicular to the orientation of the particular imperfections being detected.
It can also be applicable to the testing of hollow sections.

Steel — Ultrasonic testing for steel flat products of thickness equal to or greater than 6 mm |
ISO 17577:2006 specifies a method for the automated and/or manual ultrasonic testing of uncoated steel flat products for internal discontinuities by the reflection method. It is applicable to non-alloyed or alloyed steel flat products, in a nominal thickness range of 6 mm to 200 mm. However, this standard may be applied to austenitic and austenitic-ferritic steels, provided that the difference between the amplitude of the noise signal and that of the echo detection threshold is sufficient for the limit fixed. Unless otherwise agreed, for testing of steel flat products for welded steel tubes, ISO 12094 applies.

Steel — Ultrasonic testing of steel flat products of thickness equal to or greater than 6 mm |
ISO 17577:2016 specifies a method for the automated and/or manual ultrasonic testing of uncoated steel flat products for internal discontinuities by the pulse echo technique.
It is applicable to non-alloyed or alloyed steel flat products, in a nominal thickness range of 6 mm to 200 mm. However, this International Standard may be applied to austenitic and austenitic-ferritic steels, provided that the difference between the amplitude of the noise signal and that of the echo detection threshold is sufficient for the limit fixed. Unless otherwise agreed, for testing of steel flat products for welded steel tubes, ISO 10893‑9 applies.
Other techniques of testing (e.g. by transmission) or other test equipment may be used at the manufacturer's discretion, provided that they give identical results to those obtained under the conditions of this International Standard. In the event of a dispute, only the method defined in this International Standard will prevail.
Testing of flat products, of thickness less than 6 mm and over 200 mm, may be the subject of special agreements between the parties concerned.
Testing is normally carried out in the place of production or on the premises of the supplier.

Titanium pipes and tubes — Non-destructive testing — Part 1: Eddy-current examination |
ISO 25902-1:2009 specifies a method for the eddy-current examination for detecting flaws in titanium seamless tubes and welded tubes.
Titanium tubes are now used as steam surface condensers in steam-power plants, anatomic-power plants and desalination plants. Therefore, the quality of titanium tubes is very important and this is why the eddy-current inspection method was established. This method also applies to titanium alloy tubes.

Reference materials for particle size measurement — Specification of requirements |
This document is intended to support users of reference materials (RMs) for particle size analysis to identify suitable RMs (certified or not) for their needs. In line with the focus on users, questions on sample preparation that go beyond preparation of the sample as received by the user will not be covered by this document.
This document describes the fundamental requirements that RMs (certified or not) for the determination of particle size shall fulfil in order to be fit for a given purpose. The document is limited to a description of the fundamental principles – the discussion whether a certain numerical value is fit for purpose is beyond the scope of this document.
The scope of this document is limited to RMs (certified or not) in the form of particles. This document does not deal with any other form of RMs, like calibration grids.

Good practice for laser diffraction measurements |
This Technical Specification advises users on how to decide if laser diffraction is the most appropriate method for analysis of their samples, to prepare samples appropriately, to verify proper functioning of their instrument, to interpret their data, and to assess data quality. This Technical Specification focuses on the practical steps required to obtain results of good quality, rather than on theoretical considerations, and covers not only the measurement of solid particles, but also emulsions and bubbles. Result variation expectations of real samples will also be considered.
